Automating Financial Data Extraction for an Accounting Team

An energy company’s accounting team was manually extracting data from SAP into Excel for analysis on tables like BSEG (line item postings), BKPF (accounting documents), and KNA1 (customer master data). The inefficient process raised concerns from auditors about potential data tampering during reporting.

The Solution:

We introduced the DVW connector capabilities and developed automated workflows to migrate the entire manual process. This eliminated manual touchpoints, addressed data integrity concerns, and led to the adoption of a company-wide standard for SAP data extraction and reporting, ensuring consistent and accurate analyses.

Streamlining Quarter-End Reporting for a Pharmaceuticals Company

A pharmaceuticals company relied on messy, patched, and inherited Excel workbooks for their quarter-end reporting. The controller was seeking a way to invest in analytics and move away from the limitations of Excel to create a more efficient, scalable solution.

The Solution:

We developed an analytics roadmap, ranking Excel-based processes by importance and complexity. We then migrated these workbooks into automated workflows and functional dashboards. The transformation was so impactful that, when the controller resigned, an internal team member easily transitioned into the role, leveraging the fully documented workflows and dashboards to seamlessly maintain monthly and quarterly accounting processes.
