I founded Data Prep U in 2018 after spending years watching finance professionals struggle with the same problem: training programs that felt more like compliance obligations than actual skill-building. Too many teams were stuck in sessions that checked boxes but left them just as confused about their analytics tools when they returned to work. I wanted to create something different. An independent training practice focused entirely on hands-on, practical instruction without the overhead and sales pressure of traditional consulting firms fit the bill. That independence lets me focus on what actually matters: helping your team master the tools that make their work faster, smarter, and more rewarding.
Data Prep U is a NASBA-registered CPE sponsor specializing in Power BI, Alteryx Designer, and AI skills training for finance professionals. We teach through real-world scenarios that mirror the messy challenges you face daily. To top it off, we provide managed analytics support services, from Alteryx Server administration to on-demand user coaching, so you’re never stuck figuring it out alone. When I’m not training or supporting clients, you’ll find me with my family in Colorado, where we love all the Colorado things, such as hiking, camping, skiing, and mountain biking. That balance keeps me grounded and reminds me why this work matters: creating space for people to do meaningful work, actually enjoy it, and still have time for their personal lives.
